Cecilia Catalina Garcia, APRN, FNP-BC

Cecilia Catalina Garcia, APRN, FNP-BC, is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the Department of Otolaryngology at the University of Miami Health System (UHealth), specializing in the Division of Laryngology. She provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals with voice, airway, and swallowing disorders, with an emphasis on evidence-based evaluation, diagnosis, and individualized treatment.

Cecilia earned her Master of Science in Nursing through the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies in August 2025. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, cum laude, from Florida International University’s Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences in April 2021, where she was a member of the Honors College and served as Vice President of Delta Phi Epsilon.

Prior to becoming an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Cecilia served as a Registered Nurse II in Otolaryngology and Radiation Oncology at the University of Miami Health System’s Lennar Foundation Medical Center. During this time, she developed extensive experience caring for patients with complex head and neck conditions, including head and neck malignancies. She also served as a specialized charge nurse in Radiation Oncology, contributed to quality improvement initiatives, supported clinical education and preceptorship, and collaborated closely with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.

Cecilia began her nursing career in the Emergency Department at Baptist Health South Florida’s Doctors Hospital, where she provided care for patients with acute and complex medical conditions. This experience strengthened her clinical assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills.

In her current role, Cecilia evaluates and manages a broad range of laryngological conditions, including vocal fold lesions and paralysis, recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, laryngeal malignancies, and laryngeal and airway stenosis. Her clinical expertise includes laryngoscopy, videostroboscopy, tracheoscopy, and comprehensive head and neck examinations. She works collaboratively with laryngologists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans and support optimal patient outcomes.

Cecilia is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and maintains her professional nursing credentials and life support certifications. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she is committed to providing compassionate, culturally responsive care and helping patients understand their conditions, treatment options, and ongoing care needs.
