Dr. Gina LaRocca is a distinguished cardiovascular specialist and educator who has joined the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in  May 2026 as Professor of Medicine on the Clinical Educator Track. Bringing nearly three decades of expertise to the Miller School, she leads the expansion of comprehensive advanced cardiovascular imaging programs, specializing in cardiac MRI and CT. Her work is dedicated to bridging the gap between rigorous scientific inquiry and bedside excellence, utilizing her extensive background as a physician-scientist to advance clinical reasoning and diagnostic accuracy within the University’s heart and vascular initiatives.

At the University of Miami, Dr. LaRocca continues her mission of educational innovation and mentorship, training the next generation of cardiologists through integrated imaging curricula. Previously the Director of Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging at Mount Sinai in NYC, she now focuses on building multidisciplinary programs that leverage artificial intelligence and multi-modality imaging to improve patient outcomes. A prolific researcher with over 50 publications in journals like Nature Medicine, Dr. LaRocca’s leadership at the University of Miami ensures that the latest advancements in cardiovascular risk stratification and inflammatory disease research are translated directly into superior patient care
