Dr. Kunal Kapoor is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.  

He was part of the 8-year BA/MD program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to going to medical school, he received a Fulbright Scholarship to the United Kingdom where he pursued a master’s degree in Medical Anthropology from Durham University. He was presented his findings in a TEDx talk at the university.

Upon graduating, he made his way to the University of Miami for his internship and residency in Internal Medicine.  He subsequently returned to the Virginia Commonwealth University for his Cardiology fellowship.  While there, Dr. Kapoor was selected as a Chief Fellow. He also received the Orhan Muren, MD Award for Outstanding Fellow and the Professionalism & Humanism award. He then completed his Electrophysiology Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta.

Dr. Kapoor treats patients within the full spectrum of electrophysiology, including both simple and complex ablations, as well as device implants, lead extractions, and left atrial appendage occlusions.

In his spare time, he is an avid tennis player. He loves live music, exploring philosophy, and spending time in nature.
