Dr. Olga Villar-Loubet is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She is a clinical health psychologist, licensed in the state of Florida. Dr. Villar-Loubet’s area of specialization is Clinical Health Psychology. Her areas of expertise are cognitive and behavioral psychology, and her clinical interests include psychological treatment of adolescents and adults with anxiety and mood disorders, adjustment to medical illness and/or injury, adjustment to life transitions, coping with relationship difficulties, caregiver stress, and health education and promotion. Dr. Villar-Loubet’s research interests include anxiety, mood disorders and health psychology. Her areas of expertise include understanding and addressing psychological factors associated with diagnosis and management of acute and chronic medical conditions, and developing and implementing culturally sensitive cognitive behavioral interventions for adolescents and adults, including women who are pregnant, with a focus on adjusting to illness, behavioral health management and stress responses.
